US coronavirus cases increase by more than 30,000 in one day

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports 1,062,446 cases of COVID-19 and 62,406 deaths.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday reported 1,062,446 cases of the new coronavirus, an increase of 30,787 cases from its previous count.
The number of deaths, it said, had risen by 2,349 to 62,406.
The CDC reported its tally of cases of COVID-19 as of 4:00 p.m. ET on April 30.
On Thursday, US President Donald Trump said he had seen evidence linking the novel coronavirus to a lab in Wuhan, China, though he would not provide further details.
“Yes, I have,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked directly whether he had seen evidence that gives him confidence the virus was tied to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
“And I think that the World Health Organization should be ashamed of themselves because they’re like the public relations agency for China,” Trump added.

Bayern Munich 'make £35m bid for Manchester City star Leroy Sane - £11M LESS than he was signed for - after reaching an agreement on a five-year deal for the Germany winger'

Bayern Munich have made Manchester City an offer of £35million to sign Leroy Sane, according to reports. Turkey sends aid to Arab countries to fight coronavirus

Turkey’s state aid agency on Wednesday sent aid packages to both Lebanon and Palestine to fight the worldwide coronavirus pandemic. In the Israeli-blockaded Gaza Strip, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) handed out personal care packages to 2,000 needy families with the help of a local NGO. Since 2006, Israel has imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip, where nearly 2 million Palestinians live, taking a grim toll on the economy, health, and education. There are 329 COVID-19 cases in Palestine and the official death toll is two. TIKA also provided medical assistance, including glasses, masks, medical gloves, and disinfectants, to healthcare institutions in Libya’s capital Beirut and the southern city of Saida as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus in the country. Orhan Aydin, the agency’s Lebanon coordinator, told Anadolu Agency that this move shows TIKA’s desire to help Lebanon’s efforts to stem the virus’ spread across the country.
