In a Q&A with the daily mail, one trader asked the 39-year-old for his dream foreign XI, and Crouch replied: "Goodness, Brian! I could be here for the rest of the week and still be worrying about my selections.
"I'm going to play a Christmas tree formation - 4-3-2-1 - and I think this team would see lots of the ball.
"(Denis) Irwin slots in at right-back as he was versatile. He played mostly on the left for Manchester United but you only had to see his ability with a dead ball. Midfield was almost impossible to choose and I feel bad for leaving out Sergio Aguero but I had to have (Dennis) Bergkamp and (Gianfranco) Zola. That wasn't an option."
As well as the players already mentioned, Crouch went for Peter Schmeichel in goal, with the Danish goalkeeper a big part of United's famous treble-winning side of 1998-1999
